If Pip hadn’t met Magwitch in the graveyard, Pip’s life would be very different. Instead of going to London in search of being a gentleman, Pip would stay to work at the forge with Joe. Pip would then become a blacksmith and he would care for Mrs. Joe along with Biddy after Mrs. Joe had been hit in the head. Through that bonding with Biddy, Pip would realize that his expectations of being with Estella were unachievable. Therefore, he would propose to Biddy and they would get married. Biddy would start up her own school and teach the children of the village better than her aunt had. As for Pip, he would take over the forge for Joe and he would live a life of contentment. He wouldn’t feel guilt or he wouldn’t be depressed because he had no interactions with the convict. Although Pip is uneasy about Magwitch, he should really thank him because Magwitch changed his life for the better.
